MDOWELL SELLS SONS OF ALLANADALE Lexington Ky May 4 Before leaving for Louis ¬ ville this morning T C McDowell sold four thor ¬ oughbreds all sous of AlIanaDale F Ambrose Clark the New York steeplechase devotee bought three to be trained for crosscountry racing They are Loxley a fouryearold colt dam Quoonlike IL which died recently Golden Lad a threeyearold gelding dam Dona Sol and an unnamed three yearold colt dam Scarlet and Green Mr Clark has been the guest of B C Cowdin at Kirkleving tou for several days and left for New York tonight with Mr Cowdin The horses will be shipped next week The other sale was the twoyearold brown colt dam Peg Wellington to Messrs Forest and Percy A Hose of Johnstown Pa who own tho Ben Dover farm at Sabat Va They are new ¬ comers to the breeding ranks and bought this colt for stud purposes He will be shipped to Virginia tonight tonightJames James S Stoll proprietor of the Meadows Stud president of the Lexington City National Bank and president of the distilling firm of Stoll Co died this morning at Oxford Ohio as a result of a paralytic stroke Saturday night nightThere There was a wild rumor afloat here this after ¬ noon to the effect that if betting at Louisville Is Interfered with the Churchill Downs meeting will he transferred to Lexington and that such a move has been sanctioned by the State Racing Commis ¬ sion but Colonel Milton Young member of the State Racing Commission said There is nothing in the report The meeting at Louisville will he held as scheduled It may he necessary to MIC out injuiiction The whole trouble is due to political difficulties The stables of T C McDowell Milton Young J II Nicholas John Ireland Dan T Morris and Charles Pangritz were shipped to Louisville this morning John Uodegap decided at the last moment not to ship until he sees how the argument over betting will end Walter Grater will ship tomor row morning morningSecretary Secretary W R Letcher has suffered a recurrence of jaundice and Is again In bed
