FOXHALL KEENES POLO PONIES SELL HIGH New York June 27 A collection of nine polo ponies belonging to Foxhall P Keene vas sold at public auction last night for the total sum of 10125 or an average of 1125 per head headThe The top price was paid for Express a bay geld ¬ ing of magnificent conformation and reputed to be one of the best mannered ponies in this country The price was t100 at which figure be was knocked down to Paul J Itainey through Dr Mc Culloiigh Tin first bid was from William Easton at 500 which was rapidly advanced to 3000 where the latter dropped out outMr Mr Itainey also bought Blue Peter at 2500 and Shorty for 1100 Mr Kaston was the contending bidder 1500The each time but got only Crotona at 1500 The ponies purchased by Mr Itainey will be used in the coming polo tournament at Van Cortlandt Park this fall J B Thomas Jr representing the New Haven Polo Club bought only two although he wanted more Mr Keene was not present at the sale which was the result of his decision not to ride this year
