CITY PARK RACING RUMORS AND PLANS Xew Orleans La July 1 There have been many rumors and much backing and filling concerning racing over the City Park track First it was given out that August Barthe and R J Bruso rep ¬ resenting others in part had leased the City Park truck and that they would conduct a cheap meet ¬ ing there in opposition to the Louisiana Racing and Driving Club the meeting to continue until the Locke law goes into effect That some such bargain was agreed to by local officials of the City Park Club seems certain but the affair is now announced to be declared off the reason being that influential stockholders elsewhere registered an emphatic veto vetoThe The two big clubs here will undoubtedly take steps to attack the Locke law through the courts In an orderly way In fact It Is stated that plans to that end have been practically agreed upon and the main grounds on which the constitutionality of the law will be assailed have been determined In this the small tracks arc ignored and to have no part
