LIVELY RACING ENTERTAINS AT WINDSOIv WINDSOIvFavorites Favorites Succumb to Outsiders but Harcourt and Anna Smith Prove Faithful Detroit Mich July 2 Large fields went to the post in a majority of the races at Windsor this aft ¬ ernoon ahd some keen contests resulted Two favor ¬ ites managed to win the successful choices being Harcourt and Anna Smith Bad riding helped to beat some of the choices Francis riding of Wave Crest in the opening race coming in for some sharp j criticism Wave Crest is a bleeder and the boy was probably afraid that she might bleed in todays race for he took hold of her at the start and kept her in the rear all the way Francis redeemed him ¬ self by winning the sixth and seventh races with Anna Smith and Dennis Stafford Just before the horses went to the post for the first race light showers set in but when post time arrived for the second race the sun had come out The little rain that fell helped rather than hurt the track and the going was fast as the time made in some of the races shows showsIt It F Carman won his first race of the meeting when his twoyearold filly Paradise Queen beat the favorite Havre out a length in the second race If the stable profited any by Paradise Queens vic ¬ tory it probably lost back more than it won when Colonel Jack was beaten In the fourth race a sprint at five and a half furlongs The pace in this race was very fast the first half mile being run in 47 The winner turned up in Billic Hibbs which came from behind in the stretch and won going away by three lengths Among the visitors at Windsor this afternoon was A R London secretarv of the Hamilton Jockey Club ClubJockey Jockey G Swain came in for official censure for disobedience at the post Starter Dade set Swain down for five days for trying to beat the barrier with Billie Hibbs HibbsThroe Throe horses the property of L Blume arrived at Windsor tonight from New York Three consigned to T F Coles and ono to A G Westou came on in the same car carJockey Jockey P Coaue came on with the Blume horses and will ride thorn here Jockey T KoeriKr was much Improved this after ¬ noon uiid reports from tbe hospital were that the boy would be about again in a week or ten days
