ONE WINDSOR RACE DECLARED OFF Biff Attendance and Many New Arrivals Good Horse Photographer Tails Lame Detroit Mich July 9 The card originally offered at Windsor this afternoon called for seven races The feature race was a mile condition dasli which brought together a good field but the pres ¬ ence of Martin Doyle in the race frightened the owners of the other four entries and they scratched This forced the race to be declared off which left only six to be run The sport was good and a ma ¬ jority of the finishes close enough to be interesting Favorites won two of the races while a couple of the other winners Halbard and Imhoden were well backed and their victories meant heavy loss to the ring The attendance was up to the high standard set In the opening week and speculation was lively The racing here this summer exceeds by far in inter ¬ est any ever given at the JVindsor track and the management are doing their part in trying to pro ¬ vide good sport for their patrons The closing of Latonia brought another large dele ¬ gation from the Milldale track Among those to arrive this morning were jockeys Andrew Minder Heidcl Elenor and Connelly Powers will be here Monday morning The stables of Edward Alvey an1 II II Mariin also arrived Judge Charles Price who outdated as the presiding otlicial at Latonia also got in and will spend several days here with friends before going north northPhotographer Photographer rated as the best Canadianbred out this season and a horse which showed high class form at Toronto this spring pulled up very lame after a workout this morning and will be shipped back to Adam Becks farm near London Fred Cooks threeyearold Johnnie Blake Injured himself in his race yesterday and this morning trainer Bill Phillips found one of the colts ankles swollen to twice its natural size The trouble ap ¬ pears to he a serious one and It probably means Johnnie Blakes retirement for the season seasonW W Harris will ship three horses to Quebec to ¬ morrow morrowThe The jumper Bilberry will also be shipped to Que ¬ bec becNicol Nicol was cautioned for rough riding on Michael Angelo in the sixth race and jockey U Swain was set down by the starter for three days for disobe ¬ dience at the post
