ONTARIO JOCKEY CLUB STAKES The stakes of the Ontario Jockey Club Toronto to be run at the autumn meeting which commences Saturday September 19 are now in the hands of hocsemen and also appear in this paper They are 011 the very generous scale which always murks the efforts of the Toronto organization and will be greatly appreciated by horsemen To enter and start in races with 2000 added for the nominal sum of 15 in both the Toronto Autumn Cup and the On ¬ tario Jockey Club Cup the latter a longdistance handicap of two miles and a quarter and for 10 in races of 1000 added is bound to prove attrac ¬ tive to horsemen In addition to the stakes an ¬ nounced there will be several handicaps of 000 dur ¬ ing the meeting and a steeplechase every day 500 is the lowest value of any purse to be run for during the meeting which will last seven days
