RECORD BREAKING RACING AT SEATTLE Seattle Wash August S Showing u return of the good form that preceded his disappointing Derby performance W P Fines Glorio scored an easy victory today in the Club Members Handicap at The Meadows the reward for which was 1530 cash and a beautiful as well as valuable piece of plate Because of general belief that he had staled Off Glorio was ji neglected outsider in the betting and those who backed him did so for sen ¬ timental reasons only Edwin Gum ruled a well backed favorite In spite of the heavy impost that recent impressive victories had earned for him Ho was able to beat all but Glorio and his showing was creditable creditableA A J Jacksons wonderfully improved filly Icrn L vanquished with ease thn speedy band of sprint ¬ ers with which she contested in the Tnkwila Handi ¬ cap sidelirbt to the stake feature of the card Slip made a new track record by running five and one half furlongs In 103 as did Glorio bv covering a mile and an eighth in l5oi Fern Ls time Is also a new American record recordMatt Matt Reis purchased St Charles this morning and more than won him out in the opening race then failed to protect him when H p Kennedy boosted him from 400 to 000 He protected Belle of Iroquols when Kennedy bid her up an equal amount To retain Msrzer Carroll Reid had to stand a 400 raise by H R Sehaeffer SehaefferJockey Jockey W Kelly was Indefinitely suspended for bis ride on Smiley Corbott a shortpriced contender to the closing race Smiley Corbett snowed but little fipeed and Kelly pulled him UP at the head of the etretch Jbckey Morgan was lined for knocking Ida May off her stride at the start of the third race Efllr Fagot was the only successful favorite
