WASHINGTON HORSE SHOW RACING. Washington. D. C. October 12. Tho inaugural meeting of the Washington Horse Show and Racing Association began today at Bennlng before a small crowd. Society was well represented, but the regulars failed to respond in spite of tho fact that as au inducement for their patronage four running races were given. There was practically no betting to speak of on the grounds, and very little money chauged hands during tho afternoon. Had Woods Garth had an entry In the- Jumping race he would probably have raado a clean swen of the card. As it was bo furnished the- winners In tho three Qa.t races in Flat Creek. Trey of Spades and Wild Refrain. James Milton did the starting and his work at tbe barrier was jrooa. frank J; Brysn acted as prcald. mg JudRe, and Samuel Ross and G-eperal V. T. Towne9 were the stewards. The meeting will continue until next Saturday.
