1 . : ALL IN READINESS AT PIMLICO. Baltimore, Md., October 21. Indications at this time are that the coming meeting at Pimlico will be the most successful in the history of the Maryland Jockey Club. Already several of tho stables that have campaigned through Canada are on hand and reservations have been made for many shipments from New York. A number of New York stables that will try for the prizes here will take part in the meeting at Empire City this week and from there will come ou to Baltimore. The track has been put in the very best of condition for the season, and much work has been done to the steeplechase course. It has been almost entirely rejrraded and the fences have all been furnished with new brush until It is one of the best fields in the country. Steeplechasing has always been tremendously popular at the Pimlico meeting and this season wilt be no exception from the others. It is assured that there will be a good band of jumpers to draw from, and tho program book affords them ample opportunity. , Pimlico has its regulars, and they are loyal, but this season they will havo to quarrel with several newcomers for the purse money. To many horsemen the meeting at Pimlico will mean the end of the sea-! son. just as Bcnning did in more prosperous racing seasons, and this fact will add not a little to the drawing; power o the Maryland Jockey Club.
