CONCLUSION OF MGRATHIANA SALE. Lexington, Ky.. October 30. The closing out of Colonel Milton Youngs McGrathiana Stud was concluded today and. after deducting the 15 for the eight head sold for W. E. Applegate. C. W. Sininson and William Stanhope, the result of the, four days selling was SS0.3CO. as follows: norses. Aggregate. Average. First day !7 0,700 13.50 Second day 142 27.720 194.50 Third day 127 20.210 200.00 Fourth day 101 6.015 G5.50 Grand total 407 SS1.275 74.03 Deduct S 015 Youngs totals 450 SS0.3G0 75.08 The expense of the sale was about ,000. including the commission of the Fasig-Tipton Company, leaving Colonel Young 5, SCO. and to this mav be added 1908.sh,000 for which the stallion Monsieur de XiOrme and the mares Anecdote, Columbia. Debater. Ethcl-inda II.. Lady Coleman. Minnie Alphonse and Mum were sold privately before the sale. Thus Colonel Young has realized 5,000 more thau he was willing to take a month ago for the entire stud. Mr. Young made the announcement of the sale of Monsieur de LOrme and the mares but withheld the name of the buyer by request. Only throe of those sold today brought 00 or over. S. by Esher Intacta: St. James Stable 275 Irving H. Wheatcroft. after the sale, made the statement that E. C. Ruff is his private secretary and that all of the horses knocked down to him go into the lot of the St. James Stable. Mr. "Wheatcroft will lease a place for the winter and keep his extensive purchases here until spring at least.
