Ballet Girl left the barrier with a rush and, drawing away into a long lead in the first quarter, made a show of her opponents. Boz began slowly, but closed a big gap in the stretch and ran a good race. Nethermost, interfered with at the start and crowded out. finished with a great stretch rush and was gaining on the leaders at the end. King Commoner, Harold Junior and El Oro showed speed, but failed to stay. Lally was outrun to the first turn, but moved up with a rush on the backstretch and: taking a good lead, held th race safe all through the last quarter. The Clown saved much ground while rounding the first turn, where he squeezed through on the path and came again in the stretch and outstayed Ontario in the final drive The latter had to squeeze through between The Clown and Queen of the Hills after entering the homestretch and was repeatedly bumped in the last furlong. Queen of the Hills was carried wide on the first turn and tired in the final drive. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. King Sol dropped in behind the leaders soon after the start and followed them to the stretch turn, where he came to the outside, then finished gamely under the whip and. wearing Tillinghast down, got up in the final stride, lhe latter ran into the lead soon after the start and appeared a certain winner when entering tue stretch, but his rider eased him up at the sixteenth post and lost by his overconlidence. Castlewood was a close contender all the way, but tired in the stretch. Mazuma. crowded back at the start, closed a big gap and ran a good race.
