Yankee Daughter y-as as easily best of the others and hung on well. Lasata closed a big gap from a bad beginning. Eustacian showed a brilliant turn of speed, but quit badly in tho stretch. Jeanette M., shut off early and badly ridden throughout, can do much better. Opal showed speed, but quit early. The winner was entered for 00: no bid. Battleaxe made the running and, after seeming beaten in the stretch, rallied and finally won in a game effort. Chanhla Avould not break and had no chance from the start, but finished well. Burgher was sluggish at the start, but came fast and resolutely when too late. Saracinesca ran avcII and finished gamely. Biskra Avas sieedy. but was raced to exhaustion in chasiug Halifax. Far West had to be much the best to Avin, as he was repeatedly cut off in the early running and almost knocked down on the far turn, but nuwed around on the outside and, catching Monfort in the stretch, outgamed him through the last furlong. Monfort was never far from the front and ran a smart race, but sulked Avhen Notter Avent to a drive in the stretch. Earl G. showed a Hash of speed, but quit Avhen the real racing began.
