Margaret beat the barrier a couple of lengths and dashed into a commanding lead on the first turn, but tired badly in the stretch and finished driving to the limit to stall off Gus Helm. The latter, shuffled back in the scramble for position at the start, closed a big gap and finished resolutely. Judge Ermentrout, on the Inside for the entire trip, saved mucU crouud on every turn and finished well. Charivari finished with a great stretch rush. Poop In ran well to the stretch and quit. Won driving; second and third the same Alex Grant was outrun to the stretch turn, where lie slipped through on the inside and saved much "round then came fast and, catching the leaders tiring at the end, won going awav. Bergoo, on the inside for the entire trip, saved ground all the way. but was a lucky second and would not have been placed had the lenders not gone wide on the turn into the homestretch. King Sol ran well and met with interference on the first turn and again on the turn into the homestretch. Beggarman set the pace to the stretch and tired trlaucus moved up on the far turn, but quit under a drive in the last furlong. Cool showed speed early. The winner was entered for 00: no bid. Grandpa tried to run out when making the turn in going to the last fence and Sampson had to stop riding to straighten him out and he tired in the final strides. Paprika jumped well, but lacked speed. Bilberry appeared to have the race won when he stooped suddenly at the twelfth jump and. wheeling, unseated his rider. Pompous fell at the second jump and Dupee pulled Lizzie Flat up at the fifth. I.awkwing, well up and a game contender all the way, lost some ground when entering the homestretch, where he was taken wide. Hanonia and High Hat ran fairly well. Balbek quit.
