Cholk Hedrick was well up throughout and finished with a fast, but belated, rush after sharp interference when a furlong out. Rose Cherry ran in nearest pursuit iu the middle running, but tired badly at the end. Melar, after forward early contention, dropped out and came again into a persistent fourth. Orchan, away slowly, was sent along to set the pace and held sway to the final sixteenth before succumbing. Military Man was pocketed in the middle running and had a rough stretch drive. Miss May Bowdish showed superior, but brief, early speed and dropped out in the last quarter, but was palpably short. Kogo, after trailing in the early running, closed up moderately well. Fantastic was reserved for six furlongs, but could not get up in a fast stretch sprint. Fred Bent sullered from serious interference on the first turn and was excessively urged in recovering his lost ground, then again shut off on the backstretch and tired badly in consequence at the end. Bellwether was rushed Into the lead on the inside from a slow start and crowded the others badly, held sway for seven furlongs and failed to stay. The winner was entered for ,000; no bid. Smiling Metzner broke slowly and, while in close inside quarters, closed a gap under an inadequate ride. Buster Jones loomed up on the stretch turn, but tired badly at the end. Merrill, well up iu the early running, tired and was palpably short. The winner was entered for 00; no bid.
