DEAD HEAT AT EL PASO. El Paso. Tex.. December 24. The hot snn which m broke through the clouds this morning after last nights rain, brought out an unusually large attendance to the races at Washington Park. The fields were large with few withdrawals and favorites rewarded the form backers in- every race. The feature of the day was the dead heat between Sam G. and Mattie D. in the third race, which was immediately run off and Sam G. was easily returned the winner. The last race on the card, the entries for which closed at 10 a. m., was for Texas-bred ponies ridden by cowboys and created considerable local interest.
