Taylor George fell back on the far turn and came with a rush after entering the stretch, but suddenly swung to the tail behind the loaders when opposite the final eighth post and could not get through. Burgher, in a jam at the start, had to bore his way through to a contending position when well into the backstretch. then came fast in the final eighth and finished gamely under the whip. L. C. Widrig ran well and. in a long stretch drive, finished resolutely. Third Rail clung on tenaciously all the way. tiring only in the last few strides. Skyo was cutoff badly on the far turn.
