I aseas t lie commission Will sain lion bookmaking. it is my advice, and 1 iclb-i t the sentiment of the majority of the stockholders in the Lexington track, that no meeting will ha attempted here this spring. "There Is no money in Hie local treasury to offset ■ loss. II was all taken up by the loss Incurred last rail. There is in addition to this, a debt of nearly 0,000 on the original purchase of the plant from tin- estate of Captain Itrown that has lo lie paid before the Kentucky Association gets a clear title to the pioperty. "Right here I would like to deny the statement that Leads A. Vila holds the controlling interest in the Lexington truck. He does not own one dollars worth of slock. The track cost 0,000. of which about 0,000 lias been paid off. Of this .7. .".on was subscribed by Louisville people and the remainder is 1 1 ■ I.I by Lexington people. 1 am counting E. R. Bradley, who has ,000 worth of stock as one of the Louisville party. D. X. Mnrphv. a Louisville architect, has 15.000; W. ». IVppeler has ,000; Mr. Grainger and myself have ,500 each-Charles F. Price has ,000. The remainder is held in smaller amounts. It is purely a stock com l.api willi many stockholders and none of the stock is in lie hands of Cella or unv person living outside of I lie slate, unless it he that E. R. Bradley claims his home as Chicago."
