CLABAUGH MEMORIAL CANDIDATES. Baltimore. Md.. April 1.". — Horses are rapidly a3 sembling for the coming meeting at Pimlico. The stable of P. S. P. Randolph, the South Carolina turfman. Is here from Aiken, in charge of Nat Byer. Among the lot are Besom, a stake winner here last fall, lieating some of the best horses at the track: Racquet, the sensation of the last Savannah meeting, and several two-year-olds. The stable of Jule Garson is due to arrive this afternoon from Denning, where they have spent the winter months. The lot includes Dan de Noyies. a Canadian winner, and several of J. II. Maddens well-bred two-year-olds, of which wonders are ex pected. The Olabangh Memorial Cup. to be run for on the first day of May. for two-year olds bred in Maryland. Virginia and Pennsylvania, appears lo be up to the stable of William Garth of Chariot tesville. Va.. now at Washington getting ready for the coming meeting. He will be represented in the rac • by six well-bred youngsters — Melon, a brown lilly by the late "Pa" Bradleys Aloha — Cantaloupe; The Monk, a black gelding, by William Garths leading stallion. Fatherless, sire of Bach horses as I i tor and the steeplechase stake winner. T. S. Martin, which went lame at Washington last Friday; Merman, a chestnut colt, by Fatherless — Mermaid, and Daisy Garth, a chestnut filly, named after Mr. Garths ikiughter. by flawkswick — Tabitha. All of these two-year-olds are reported to have worked well over Ihe Bcnning track, and will have no excuses if beaten in the Cup. Thomas Clyde of Philadelphia, whose horses are in charge of Captain Fred W. Presgravc. will bo well represented lu the race, having seven entries, all of which are well bred, lieing by Mr. Clyde I sires. Dublin and Bryn Mawr. and out of selectej mares, as follows: Darveau. b. c. by Bryn Mawr — Alan: Duchesne, br. c. by Bryn Mawr — Alhanihra: Batisean, b. c, by Dublin — Hacklet: Dalhouie. h. c. by Bryn Mawr — Octavia; Belveil. b. f. by Dublin Pilgrimage: Alvniar, b. c. by Bryn Mawr — Thistle down, and a chestnut Ally, by Dublin— Liffey. all of which are going through daily gallops and works. No doubt this stable will lie a strong contender, if not the winner of the Cup. From Middlebuig. Md.. from where many dark secrets and good things have come and received their final preps, will come the stable of R. W. Walden. with six tiuhaugh eligihles. which will be fit and ready to race when thev arrive on April 20. The two-year-olds consist of Beau Chilton, a bay colt by Chilton, the horse that Pittsburg Phil won many a fortune on. dam Belle Acton: Good Intent, b. c. by Chilton; Fluctuate, gr. c. by Faraday, the sire of James McLaughlins Buffalo Derby winner. Oxford, dam Inconsistency: Funstion. b. f. by Chilton— Festival; Flying Night, eh. f. by Chilton— Flying Day. and Indian Belle, gr. f. by Faradav — .Minnehaha III. William Jennings of Mount Washington will have one entry in the Claliangh Cup iiv the good-looking brown gelding. Kyrat. by Faraday — Miss Lillian, which has worked well over Ihe Pimlico tra-k and will give a good account of himself when sent to the post. The horses of J. S. Hoy arrived from Washington yesterday. Six were in the shipment. W. O. Scully also arrived with Pins and Needles. Veracity and two Star Shoot two-year-old colts. The horses of W. A. Clianler and William Garths string of twenty-two have also come to Pimlico. WikhIs Garth, with twelve, and Theodore Coles, with nine, were iu the same consignment.
