FORTY-SIX YEARLINGS AT NURSERY STUD. Sixteen of the Youngsters Are by Rock Sand— Others by Hastings. Octagon and Singleton. Liiugtou. Ky.. May 15. — August Belmont, chairman of the Jockey Club, and one of Americas inonev barons. has a fine collection of yearlings at his Nursery Stud. tl«? home of the 25,000 Rock Sand, now nine years old. imported from England in the summer of IBM. The yearnings number forty-six. of which twenty-mx are colts and twenty fillies. Eight of the colts and eight of the fillies are l v Rock Sand, and tliev represent the first of the get ill this country of tbe illustrious son of Sainfoin and Roquehrune. which. b.id Sir James Miller lived, could probably not have lieen liouglit out of England for twice the sum that Mr. Belmont paid for him. Ten of the colts and four of the fillies arc by Hastings, now the second sire at the Nursery. There are four colts and seven fillies by Octagon, which « -ent during the past winter along with the stallion LthellHit and seventeen mares to a farm that Mr. Belmont maintains in France. The young St. Simon horse. Singleton, now the third stallion in this stud, is represented by one colt.
