COURTIER SUCCUMBS TO PNEUMONIA. Toronto. Out.. June 14.— The ill fortune that PC rented Joseph E. Seagram, pick leant of the Ontario Jockey Club, from sending more than two or thtv ■ hi rsee to the post at the recent Woodbine meeting. has culminated in the death of the three-year old. Courtier, by Paladin Sil . I. from pneumonia, a development of the epidemic of coughing that affected so many horses here this spring. Courtier was well thought of for the Kings Plate, hut was only able to gel fifth place in the race. A few days later he won the Breeders Stakes and he was carded to run iu the Stanley Stakes, but had to lie withdrawn on account of sickness. On the previous racing he looked like the winner of that rich event, and it made a considerable difference in the winnings of the stable at the meeting that he was Incapacitated. The other horses in the stable are reported to he doing well and will Is- ready to race at Hamilton.
