NEWS OF AMERICAN TURFMEN ABROAD. New York. June 14. -The American jockey. Mils, who is riding in Austria, writes from Vienna that racing is in a flourishing condition there. Miles is under contract to ride for one of the principal Austrian stables, and has scored sufficient winning mounts to place him well up on the jockey list. He says that Fred Taral is expected to return from America, having been offered a tempting position as trainer for one of t lit most popular tnrfmen lu the kingdom. In Germany Henry Spencer is doing well witli the horses of Herr Ban. which he has handled for several saaaaaa, on his trip to this country last winter. Spencer purchased Tattling from James It Keonc. and Tileing from James li. McCorinick. who is at present training one of the largest stables in Germany. Spencer is highly pleased with the Keene three-year-old filly, she having beaten some of the fastest sprinters in Germany. Spencer rides many of the starters from his own barn. It is said lie lias lost none of the cleverness and finishing ability which brought him to the front rank of American riders some years ago.
