He was a good two-vear-old. Ills first start was at Aqueduct. April ltf. and Iloyle beat him a head at four and a half furlonps in 52. a ro track record. In his next race Trance gave him seven pounds and ■ Ix-ating. Tills was In the Oztyne Stakes, at Aqueduct, a half-mile dash, run in 4H. Then he ran second to High Private in the tanarslc Stakes and seemed to be unlucky and a place runner onlv. but he speedily dispelled this notion. April 27 lc won tlie Woodbaven Stakes and defeated Trance bv two lengths. Again the filly was trying to give him seven pounds, and this time she failed. Che good colt. Preceptor, was third. July 2. he scored from Harrigan. Practical and tm re at five and a half furlongs in 1 : 7» and gave them all five or more pounds.
