TOOK JOCKEY FOR A CHILD. An amusing Incident occurred in London ns n re-iinlt of the children act. In which the central liguic was I. Plant, a well known locker. After leaving his hotel Plant entered a tobacconists MM* and aski-d for some cigarettes. The attendant, scanning the Jockey, who is of small Htature, remarked. "I beg your pardon, whut did .vou say V" in Plant repeating his reajMOt, she lioluteil to I notice in the shop, prohibiting the sale of cigarettes to those under Hlxteen, and remarked. "I cant serve you." "I was never bo taken down In mv life." said Plant, telling the story, "and for the life of me I could not think what to say. I hurriedly walked out of the shop. and. having recovered from my surprise a minute later, burst Into SOcfa laughter that people alM.ut must have though! me mail." Plant Is twenty six years of age. Is uiarrl.il and the father of a bonny daughter.
