DALMATIAN BROUGHT 00 AS YEARLING. New York, July 6. Dalmatian, winner of tho first part of the Double Event, also of the Great Trial Stakes, is the two-year-old wonder of the season. Dalmatian is a ringer for his three-year-old stable companion, Fitz Herbert, in conformation and color, but possesses little of the speed of that colt. He does not seem to get fairly started until he has traveled halt a mile. Dalmatian cost Sam Hildreth only 0. He bought the Ethelbert colt from Charles W. Moore last year. Mr. Moore had previously acquired him for 00. Dalmatian was a big, awkward yearling by a discredited stallion and nobody seemed to want him. Hildreth did not think him worth much until he won the first part of the Double Event. But todav the Missourian would not part witli Dalmatian for 0,000. He believes the colt will make a first-class three-year-old.
