Scruples showed much the most speed and appeared a certain winner on the stretch turn,- but tired badiy in the final drive. Gallant Pirate, a forward contender all the way, finished fast and gamely. Dr; Koch was repeatedly crowded and Jammed into several of the Hags. The Minks was allowed to trail far back for the first half, then moved up with a rush, but lost much ground by being taken wide into the stretch and was gaining at the end.
