FAIR PLAY "AMONG ALSO RANS. London, Eng... July 23. August Belmonts Fair Play failed to successfully carry 112 pounds in the Liverpool Cup today and finished unplaced. The race, a handicap for 1,500 sovereigns, at a mile and three-eighths, resulted as follows: II. Lythams Adversary, br. g, C, by Matchmaker Way ward Aggie. 03 1 J. B. Joels Dean Swift, ch. g, S, by Childwick Pasqull, 132 2 A. F. Bassets Hayden, b. h, 5, by Avidity Langour. 113 , ;.. 3 The .Toliffe Two-Year-Old Stakes of 150 sovereigns, distance five furlongs, was won by August Belmonts Fond Memories, a chestnut filly by Octagon Fond Hopes. E. Kennedys Fleiiiington was second and II. jr. Duryeas LespedeSa third. The Sefton Plate of 150 sovereigns, for three-year-olds and upward, distance five furlongs, was won by Well Done. Black Gal was second and Bellatrix third. Seven horses started, including II. P. Whitneys Sixty II. The Croxteth Plate, a handicap of 300 sovereigns, distance six furlongs, was won by Golden Rod. Gal-leot was second and Basil third. Eight horses started, including J. R. Keeues Wamba 11.
