TRAINING OPERATIONS IN THE EAST EASTNew New York Marcli 10 There were many workouts timed yesterday at Gravesend and Aqueduct race tracks To witness thebusy scentson either of these tracks any morning one would almost think that the racing season was already here Trainers are making the most of the fair weather C Leightou at Gravesend sent Hildas Sister a half mile in 57 while Cuthhert was sent along at about the same clip These two are looking well and will be ready to begin racing when the bugle sounds AqueductR at Aqueduct R Miller sent all the Fanshawe twoyearolds quarters in 27 and 20 They are nicelooking young ¬ sters being big in body and having nice action actionG G Cornnell had his twoyearolds out and breezed them quarters in 28 The threeyearolds Everett and Sandrian were out and went along at a two minute clip for threeeighths They have taken on flesh during the winter and are in fine condition conditionFitz Fitz Herbert accompanied by a twoyearold chest ¬ nut colt under the watchful eye of trainer Taylor was given light exercise Adriuche from the same stable galloped threeeighths Tills filly has wintered well having taken on a lot of flesh fleshD D W Kdford had out all of the Bevcrwyck Stable horses and allowed them a stiff breeze for three eighths In the company were Berkeley Sir John Johnson Quantico Malacca and Banyah The last named two arc junipers Then there were four goodlooking twoyearolds Special Brew a hay or roan colt by Kingston out of Stylitene a bay filly by Kingston out of Rapture a bay or brown colt by Kingston out of Sorcery and a chestnut filly by Voter out of Harpsichord The four were sent quarters in 29 and 30 30Dandelion Dandelion from the Ilildreth stable worked three eighths in 47 His wind seems to be affected affectedS S S Marshall who trains for H K Vingut and J II MeLaughlin sent Master Lester a quarter in inP P Wimmer sent The Peer a half mile in 57 and George Odoni who had out Prince Gal and Trance sent the pair threeeighths in 40 and 43 Trance is training soundly and hx ks big and high in flesh She has wintered well and Is rounding to form rapidly Prince Gal also looks well has his speed and takes kindly to work workBonnie Bonnie Kelso worked threeeighths in 42 and Follie Lew the same distance in S This fast filly has shaped up well and shows much early speed Trainer Odoin is making great headway with his horses and will have some of them ready for the colors the opening day at Aqueduct AqueductF F Starita wfco owns and trains the horses of the Green River Stable sent Queen Helen threeeighths in 4i and all of his twoyearolds quarters in 27 and 28 He has in the bunch three stoutlooking bay colts that show a high turn of speed speedThe The track at Sheepshead Bay Is in line condition W Hurley trainer for E R Bradley had Bad News go a half in 58 The old campaigner appeared full of run and was under restraint all the way The twovcarold Compliment a chestnut colt by Ort Wells out of Adeek a chestnut colt by Belvi derc out of Madge Stuart and a chestnut colt by Hermence out of Georgia Kiuney all went a quarter in 2ft They are goodlooking youngsters youngstersThe The good threeyearold Turf Star was sent along threeeighths in 45 She has not taken on any flesh during the winter and looks poorly poorlyMaskette Maskette Melisande and Infatuation the latter a threevearold that has never faced a starter in this country were the Keenc representatives first on the track and went a quarter in 21 Infatuation is a brown or bay filly by Kingston out of Runaway Girl The trio all anpear to be in fine fettle Hi ¬ larious Ballot and Sweep were next shown and were given threeeighths in 30 It was a bit faster than trainer Rowe cared to send them hut they were all so full of run that it was all their riders could do to keep them from running away awayMetaphor Metaphor Grasmere and Suffragist making up tno third division of the older horses to work were allowed threeeighths in 40 They are training along nicely All the twoyearolds from the Keene stable were sent quarters in 2 20 and 30
