Never of any great vain-, it has still proved attractive to owners and has usually lieon contested by really good race horses. In its first two years it was at the orthodox distance of a mile and a half and was then mistakenly cut down to a mile and a quarter. Such cracks as Martituas. Advance Guard. Red Babe, Claude. Forr Hunter and Peter Sterling won it in their years and were horses good enough for any track in any company. It promises to lie a good race this year and the record of the event is: Year. First.
