CANADIANS WIN AT FORT ERIE. Buffalo. N. Y., July 8. — Canadian owners gathered their share of the spoils at Fort Erie this afternoon by furnishing four of the winners. While the program was devoid of a stake feature the card was of excellent, caliber. Jockey Taplin rode three winners and Musgrave two. Musgrave handled John Griffin II. especially well in the fourth race. The Texas sprinter shouldered 122 [Kiunds. set a terrific pace and beat Fountain Square a scant half length in a long stretch drive. Fountain Square was well fancied at the difference in weights, being in "receipt of sixteen pounds from the winner. His connections were confident and he might have won but for going lame during the race. When he pulled up he was limping badly. Tile fifth race found half the field fighting it out all through the homestretch, aud so closely aligned were the first three at the end that it was hard to tell which had won until the official placing was displayed. Musgrave heat Redwine by the smallest of margins, with Missive only a short head away. The Canadian Racing Associations has given out that the horses formerly owned by G. W. Carmack will lie eligible for racing on the Canadian tracks provided the committee is satisfied that the sale of the horses was legitimate. The Cesarion stallion. Kid. recently donated to the Canadian Bureau of Breeding, was shipped to Montreal last night. He will be sent to the northwest next week. William Garth left lor his farm at Charlottesville. Va.. last night to arrange for the breaking of the yearlings he purchased at Sheepshead Ray recently. Steeplechase jockey Yourell suffered a broken eoilathoae as a result of a fall while school lag one of O. J. Murrays jumpers this morning. Harrington, which was making his first appearance of the season in todays steeplechase, broke down and was pulled up the last turn of the field. J. O. Keene will ship J. N. Camdens horses to the Empire City track tomorrow. Nethermost, Polka, Sager and Abe Carsons string will go in the same car. F. Lu/.ader will ship the Wainwright horses to the track. Joe Gaitens ran today in the name and colors of Z. Nr. Renton, who purchased him this morning of J. Hewitt. The Alberta Stable and the division of the Clvde stable that will be raced at Windsor will be Shipped from here tomorrow. OtHoa defeat resulted in his changing owners, D. C. Cottle claiming him for 00.
