London, Eng., Julv 13. — August Belmonts Merry Task. b. c, 3. by Octagon-Merry Token, finished first in the race for the Zetland Plate, 509 sovereigns added, at a mile and a half, at Newmarket today. Decision was second and Sycamore third. There were seven starters. The July Handicap of 900 sovereign; for thrrr year-olds and upward, dlatanea six luil.ngs of the Baahary mile, was won by 11. P. Whitaey-a four-year-old colt, peases*, by Ir rsiianion — y ra nia. Me Intyre waa second and Srnaeless third. I i*bi hpraea ran. A two-. ear-old selling stake was won bv Lawrence Waterlmrys Congo II.. bv Meddler — Bftina. San Deux was second and Sir Knight third. Thtre were ten starters.
