LADY FRIV0LES FILLY WINS AGAIN. f.andna: Eng.. July 16. — Al the Liverpool Jul v meeting today H. P. Whitneys Hamburg -I. ady Frivol ea fillv won the Mersey Stakes of 7im sovereigns, at five furlongs. J. B. Joels bay filly. Rail! ancy. bv Bhndridge — Lady KlizalK-th. was lerotn] and VY. V. Bailees chestnut filly. Cyrilla, by Cyllene — Nushka, was third. Six horses ran. On the first day of the great Ascot meeting Ladv Frivoles lilly was eligible to start in either the Coventry 8 takes or the Fifty -Third Ascot Biennial Slakes. Trainer Joyner selected the latter race and sin- was beaten by St. Nat. Then Joyner declared bimaelf a fool for not starting her in the more valuable Coventry Stakes, averring she would baVe won. since Radiancy, which ran second t « her yesterday, was the winner of the Coventry, it appears that Joyner was right and that he threw awav one of the richest of/ Englands stakes for t wo-vear-olds.
