NOTES OF THE TURF. • 1 — " Glipian and Cherryola have been placed on the schooling list at Empire City. August Belmonts StarNdtle will be among the starters in the Mount Vernon; Handicap Saturday. Silas Veiteh, P. S. P. Randolph and J. E. Nash have shipped a carload of horses from Belmont Park to Saratoga. Feather Duster has thrown a ringbone, which accounts iu a measure for his failure to race to the form he displayed at Belmont Park. Tom Welsh has gone to Saratoga with a big bunch of the Newcastle Stables horses and other strings in his charge. The horses left to race at Empire City are in charge of P. Ryan and include Seth. Royal Meteor, Pretend, Danger Mark, Barn Dance, Madcap. Sixty and Leah. Jack Atkln did not carry blinkers in the race in which he ran unplaced at Empire City Tuesday at the suggestion of starter Cassidy. Jack Atkin has been a bad horse at the post anil trainer Powers gave him a chance without them. He was as slow as before in breaking. Charhts Rowe had. a narrow escape from drowning at Sheepshead Bay Wednesday. While swimming he became distressed and was rescued by a fellow horseman only in the nick of time. 1uconscious when taken from the water, it was some while before he could be revived. , Round the World, W. G. Yankes crack two-year-old, has arrived at the Empire City course from Saratoga. The daughter of Lackford — Nellfe Blv is eligible and will probably lie favorite for the Demoiselle Stakes, to be run Saturday. Her final trial five furlongs in better than 1:011 over the main trick at the Springs shows . that the filly has been well conditioned anil is in possession of her speed. . • /
