RENEWED ACTIVITY AT OAKLAND TRACK. San Francisco. Cal.. August 25. — A number of own ers who gave their horses a rest after the close of racing at Oakland in June are preparing for the coming racing season ;it the track across the bay. During the last few days many well-known racers have been given light gallops as a part of the earlv t raining. Among the stables where activity is noted is that of Molera and Josephs. The stars of their string are Bubbling Water and Cloudlight and they are now Been under saddle daily during the morning hours. Bubbling Water was regarded as about the best racer at Oakland track last season and at one time her owners planned to ship the tilly to New York, where she was entered in some of the principal events on the metropolitan tracks. Later it was decided to rest the mare. It is expected that Bubbling Water will prove an important factor iu local racing during the fall and winter. I. II. Miller is another owner who is galloping his horses. Raleigh is tile best in his string of seven. He is handling a few for other owners. George Strife, Who trains for J. W. Paulsen, is giving his bones light gallops. W. Covington, who lias Eddie Granoy and ether useful horses, is also getting busy. "Butch" Fisher is fitting the horses of George Van Oorden at the Walnut Creek Farm of their owner. George Berry is breaking a number of yearlings at the Napa Stock Farm and C. W. Carroll will train a string of them at Oakland for the coining meeting. .
