BASHTI FOR THE FUTURITY. Saratoga. N. Y.. August 25. — Thomas Welsh has received no word from Hawy Payne Whitney as to his plans for Bashti. the Adam filly for which he paid 0,000 last Saturday, but Mr. Welsh will go ahead and prepare her for the Futurity. Mr. Welsh had no idea until Saturday that Mr. Whitney had giren anyone au order to hoy Bashti. He was not asked by the proprietor of the Brookdale Farm to bid for her. The stranger who bought Bashti. Mr. tfcCreudy, was a representative of Mr. Whitneys New York hanker, to whom the .voting master of Brookdale sent the laconic cable. "Buy Bashti," Friday afternoon. Mr. Whitney unite naturally would like to win the Futuritv with his 0,000 filly. The Whitney colors have not been seen in front at the finish of the Coney Island Jockey Clubs neat juvenile special since Artful defeated Sysonby and Tradition in 1904. Bat persons who profess to know something of the intentions of Bashtis owner aver that the Adam fillv will not remain in the Inited States for the till v end of the Matron Stakes, which will be run at Pimlico next fall by virtue of a special arrangement between the Westchester Association and the Maryland Jockey Club. Bashti is in the Epsom Oaks, to he run in Great Britain in 1911, and not unnaturallv Mr. Whitney wants to get her acclima»ed in that country as quickly as possible. The experience ot American horses in Croat Britain in the past has demonstrated that that nrm-ess reipiires the better part of a year. If Bashti is shipped to A. J. Jayner early in September she will have eight months in which to adjust herself to conditions at New -market and accustom herself to the heavy humidity of the English air. Joyaer will, of course, have the training of Bashti foe her English engagements nest season.
