KENTUCKY TRAINERS SHOWING ACTIVITY. Horses Beginning to Get Sharp Work at Churchill Downs — Racing Gossip from Kentucky. Louisville, Kv.. August 25. — Sharp work marked the training moves at Churchill Downs and Douglas Park1 today. Hie Iracks were in royal condition. T. Abadie let Carlton G, go five furlongs in 1:041 and worked Fleurons Daughter three-eighths in 3and Trainer Will Crater sent Lexoline three eighths In 38. Jack Right, which arrived here a lew days ago from Madison. Intl.. went a half in 5::. A halt-dozen two-year-olda went quarters around 25 and several yearlings from the Ions stable went eighths in a shade under thirteen seconds. J. W. May now has Charge of J. O. Greeners Countless, and is racing him at Saratoga for tlie Nashville tnrfman. John Ferriss. who developed Countless, had nothing else he thought good enough to go to Saratoga with, and so he sent the sou of The Commoner to Mr. Mav and remained in Canada with the rest of his stable. Mr. Greene* may sell the three-year-old at Saratoga if he gets his price, but if not sold trainer May will bring him here with his string early in September and turn him oyer to trainer Ferriss. Trainer May has the backing of two or three rich patrons and proposes to come west this fall with the strongest stable he has ever trained. He lias not raced in the fall in Kentucky since he had Ilease and Marbles at Douglas Dark at the last meeting held at that course. C. C. Camnau will arrive lure Saturday or Monday to gef twenty horses to race at Hawthorne Labor Day. There will be four races, three at three-quar-ers, each for a purse of 50. and one at a mile and an eighth for a purse of 00. Lan Home, formerly in the employ of Henderson and Hogan, and who owned Early Lee and Mary Moore, is reported dead in London, Eng. His home was in Parts, Kv. Pat Dunne will ship The Peer. Barn Dance. Aga-wani. Agility, Crash and Saltan here. George Odlom will be here with Follie Levy. Nimbus. Piaiaee Gal and Hesitate. Mr. Odoni has made twenty-two stake entries here.
