OPPORTUNE TIME FOR THIS VENTURE. Lexington, Ky., August 27. — There is no question that, beginning with the meeting at Lexington on September 19, following which will come over fifty days of racing in Kentucky for the largest stakes and purses ever scheduled for fall racing thereabouts, the entire racing world will turn its face toward Kentucky tracks. Conditions are such that there will be no racing elsewhere during a goodly part of the fall. As a consequence practically everybody interested in the sport will be in attendance at the courses of the Blue Grass State. The Kentucky Sales Co. has taken advantage of this situation to bring together buyers and sellers of thoroughbred horses during the meeting at Lexington. The breeders have responded by cataloguing for this sale over 250 head of yearlings, the get of every prominent sire in the country, from practically every breeding establishment and including brothers, sisters, half-brojhcrs and half-sisters to manv noted turf performers. It is from this lot of vearlings that the vast majority of two-year-olds of 1911 must come, as those catalogued in this sale will virtually exhanse the output. It thus becomes imperative for those who expect to race two-year-olds the coming season to repair to Kentucky for their material. In addition to the yearlings, some useful horses in training have been listed, including the stables of Fred A. Forsytbe and I. H. Wheatcroft. There are some thirty-five head in these two stables, many of which have already raced creditably, while others have shown promising form and are ready to race. Other owners who desire to realize on some of their racing stock are invited to join in this sale. A concise and complete preliminary catalogue of the yearlings has been issued and will be mailed to any address upon application to the Kentucky Sales Co. at Lexington. Additional entries can also be made, up to September 5, by sending data to this company. The complete catalogue of yearlings, mares, horses in training, etc., comes from the press September 7 and will be mailed only on application.
