LIBHT WOOL, closer up than usual in the earlv running, went to the front on the far turn and gamely withstood a challenge from NETHERMOST and then from SPINDLE and BANC. The latter was kicked on the foreleg while at the post, but saved ground on the far turn and finished resolutely next to the rail. SPINDLE was a game contender for the entire trio, but was much used in keeping pace with the winner for the first half and tired. NKTHERMOST quit after coming up menacingly on the stretch turn.
