CAUGIINAWAGA DIES AT HURRICANA. New Turk. September 28. — K. J. Albright, trainer of itll. Stephen ganforda horses, writes from Am Btnrdani that Caughnawaga, greatest of the sons of Clifford, is dead. Acute indigestion can hid off the big chestnut, whoso dam was La Tosca. by St. Blaise. Iaughnawaga was a half brother to Chue-tanunda and Mohawk II.. also to Ls Tosea II.. the ilmn of sir John Johnson. He won the Twin City Handicap of 1904 and the Saratoga Handicap and Saratoga Cop of 1906. In each of the las, named races he beat Beldame. The big son of Clifford was retired to the stud a few years back, and the tirst of his gel came to the post at Mnrntoga last month. They were a nice-looking hit. Another hatch of youngsters sired by liltu will race in 1911. aivl still another in 1912. His half-brothers. Mohawk II. and Chnctanunda, are still in service at Hurricuna Stud.
