RACING DECISION IN SOUTH AFRICA AFRICAThomas Thomas Patrick Johnson an owner and trainer residing in Johannesburg South Africa brought an action in the Rand High Court recently against the chairman of the Jockey Club of South Africa for 5000 damages iu respect to the action of tlie club in warning him off The plaintiff asked for rein ¬ statement and 5000 damages The action of the Jockey Club in warning plaintiff off was the result of the running of the mare Alerry Widow which ran at Tnrffontein in the races of the Johannesburg Turf Club Johnson was the only one to give evi ¬ dence in his own behalf and Major Henley secre ¬ tary of the Johannesburg Turf Club was the only witness called for tin defense The case occupied two days in hearing and Justice Mason held that Johnson could not succeed in an action of tills kind He gave judgment for the club and ordered the costs to be paid by the plain till
