3 c r t J I RAIN CONTINUES TO FALL AT OAKLAND, John H. Sheehan and Early Tide Figure in Nose Finish in Feature Race. San Francisco, Cal., January 11. In one of the closest finishes of the season John II. Sheehan beat the rast coming Early Tide a nose in the feature race at Oakland today. Fernando ruled favorite for the race, but after being cut off. failed to show any speed. There was an upset in the fifth race when Keep Moving quit and finished unplaced, while Belleview won from Camera, a 00-1 chance, which led until near the finish. The followers of favorites started off well bv cashing on Ben Greenleaf and Tav Pay, which reveled in the sloppy going. Rain fell during the greater part or the arternoon.
