LYDIA LEE ran to the front on the stretch turn, but tired finally under punishment. ANNA closed a gap, finished fast and would have been second in another stride. FLARXEY quit after moving up rapidly on the outside in the stretch. JANE SWIFT showed speed and pulled up lame. EVENTIDE set the pace, but quit after leading to the stretch. JOE ROSE showed speed. DETROIT ran in forward contention from the start, followed the leader closely to the stretch turn, then moved up fast and, under a vigorous ride, outstayed AUNT KATE in the final drive. The latter showed the most speed and set a fast pace for five furlongs, but tired when called on for a final effort. ORTSON ran well and came on the outside of the leaders in the homestretch into a fast gaining .third. KENMARE OiJlBN j-iin fonvardly- to the stretch and tired in-the final drive. EVIA propped nt -tlie start and closed a big gap, but met with interference in the homestretch. HENRY CROSSCADDIN made up much ground. Scratched 94167Ed Le Van, 97. JUDGE MONCK. badly outrun to the stretch turn, closed an immense sap and. finishing witli a groat burst of speed, would have won in a few more strides and is good. MONTY FOX set a fast pace for live furlongs and tired badly. PLANUTESS i-an well and finished gamely and close up and the..same applies to THE WHIP. The others were beaten off.
