WALKER-YOUNG BILL FINALLY PASSES. San Francisco. Cal.. January 30. Arasee scored his fifth consecutive victory when lie beat some fast sprinters in the Fairy Handicap at Oakland today. His victory was the most popular of the season, great applause following the finish of the race. Likely Dioudonne ruled favorite, while a liberal price" was again quoted against Arasee, owing to the race being at five-eighths of a mile. Pride of Lismore led most of the way. but Arasee closed fast and caught him in the final twenty yards. Rain fell steadily and the track was muddy. Favorites fared lioorly. Judge Henderson proved a surprise by winning the last race. The Assembly at Sacramento today passed the Walker-Young bill. It is- now ready for Governor Johnson to sign and will become effective fifteen days after he affixes his signature. It was announced today that R. T. Wilson will have first call on the sol-vices of jockey .7. Glass next season and A. G. Blakeley has given Capt. E. B. Cassatt second call. Some of the owners racing here are planning to ship to Juarez in view of the prospective closing of racing here within the next three weeks.
