WALTER SCOTT, away well, ran in close pursuit of the leader to the furlong post tfnd, linishiug fast and gamely, outstayed AUTO MAID. The latter outbroke the others and set the pace to the final sixteenth, but was tiring in the final drive. ARANY. carried wide when entering the homestretch, finished with a rush, but could not get up. TERRIBLE BOY ran well and was carried wide In the first quarter. MAZARD was shut off at the start. HENRY CROSSCADDIN outbroke his opponents and. setting the pace all the way. drew away into a long lead after entering the homestretch, but tired badly in the last furlong and was doing his best at the end. JUDGE WALTON was crowded back at the start, but moved up into contention quickly and finished fast and gaming. FORE GUARD, carried wide all the way, ran well and covered more ground than anything in the race. OUTPOST followed the winner closely for a half, but tired in the final furlong. THE NIGGER showed the most speed for hiv furlongs and, setting a fast pace, tired in the stretch drive, but held on gamely to the end. T. M. GREEN ran a good race and .-shook off ArIA OCTAVIA in the last furlong. The latter pulled up lame after lx-ing a resolute forward contender from the start. STAR BLUE ran fairly well. ALDRIAN ran a good race and finished gamely, but was outpaced by the other two. JACK DENMAN was badly outclassed. WANDER Kpieezed through on the Inside into a quick lead on the liaekstieteli ami showed a good llight of speed in Piieemakiug. but tired in the last furlong. BEN DOUBLE ran well, but was in a pocket all through the 1.-st furlong and could not get up. IDA D. quit and MANIIEIMER was off badly and both should have their races thrown out. THIRD RAIL took the lead with a rush and, keepiug it, was next to the rail for the entire way and, after a long drive, shook off EDWIN L. in the last sixteenth and won going away. EDWIN L. forced the pace gamely and was lapped on the winner until well into the homestretch, but succumbed when the final drive came. DIXIE KNIGHT was outrun for the first half, but moved up gamely on the outside and finished fast and wearing the leaders down. QUEEN MARGUERITE tired. SOU met with much interference. The winner, entered for 00, was bid up to ,005 and bought in. Overweights Sou. 1 pound.
