NOTES OF THE TURF. Everett is wintering iu George ConmeHs care at Gravcscnd. Green B. Morris racing stable now consists of only one horse, Workbox. C. T. Brownfield and Mose Xewuian have formed a booking parnership at Juarez. William Walker will probably take the Indian jockey. "Sitting Bull" Johnson from Juarez to Canada with him especially to ride his jumpers. George W. Berry will take ,a string of A. B. Sprcckels two-year-olds to Xew York the coming spring. Jockey C. H. Shilling will ride them when his services are not required by S. C. Hildretu. Stanley Davis, who is going abroad March 1 to ride for Theodore W. Myers mid J. M. Cohen, iu France and Belgium, is to receive a retainer of ,000 besides a stipulated Jfec for every winning mount. Australia certainly does as much for tlie encouragement of the horse as any other community. At Fliinington and Bandwick. the only races run at less than six furlongs are for two-year-olds, and the two richest prizes of tlie year arc .at two miles. We have no half-mile flutters.
