STILL CHILLY AT JUAREZ CONTINUED COLD WEATHER HAS ITS EFFECT UPON THE PATRONAGE. Loyal Patrons of Sport at Mexican Course Rewarded By Formful Racing California Juvenile Makes Good in Two-Ycar-Old Race. El Paso, Tex.. February 23. An ordinary card and continued cold weather somewhat .depleted the ordinary Thursday attendance at Terrazas Park, but a fair-sized crowd, made up mostly of regulars, turned out. Formful racing was the order of the day. The success of three well-backed favorites, two second choices and a third choice, did much to recompense patrons for their loyalty in attending The initial race served to introduce to local patrons T. Turnmires good gelding, Cash on Delivery, a recent arrival from Oakland track, which, on tho strengtli of his good performances there, was accorded the position of favorite in the betting, lie scored witli consummate ease. He is a fine-looking1 thoroughbred and will doubtless give a good account of himself in better company. August Ahnefcr is a recent arrival from the Oakland track. He has a small string. Jockey Eddie Taplin distinguished himself again today by winning with three of his five mounts.
