ELAND showed the most early speed and set a fast pace for three furlongs, then tired, but held on gamely to the end. NELLO. away well, was outpaced by the leaders from the start, but held third place safe throughout. STILENF1T and COLETTER were knocked sideways while rounding the far turn. HENRY HUTCHISON was away poorly and badly outpaced for the first half, but closed a big gap in the stretch and, finishing with a rush, got up to win drawing clear in the final strides. HEINE was rated along at one pace throughout and passed the tiring leaders In the last furlong to finish a game second. GOLDEN RUBY ran into a long lead on the backstretch. but was rushed too fast and tired badly in the homestretch. KERRAN was crowded out at the start and closed a big gap into a close up fourth. PEEP OVER moved up menacingly midway of the stretch, but quit in the final drive. DODSON ran a good half and tired as if short.
