STICK PIN ONLY OUTSIDER TO WIN. Moncrief Park Purses Go to Favorites and Second Choices Bob R. Is Handicap Winner. Jacksonville, Flu.. February II". Warm weather, coupled with one or the best Monday cards offered 1 during the meeting, attracted a large crowd to Mon-crief Park this afternoon. Well matched fields went to the ixist and keen sport resulted. Kxcept for the second race, favorite nud second choices swept the card, Stick Pin being the only outsider to finish in front. The feature race, a mile and one-sixteenth handicap, found the first three horses passing the winning mark under hard drives. The Beverwyck j Stable furnished the winner in Bob It., which beat Avlmer and other useful racers. i In the third race, the Derby colt, Mclvor. again ; started, and while ho was victorious, his race would not impress one as favorable for his Derby chauees. Mclvor will have to improve a whole lot to beat the three-year-obis that he is asked to meet In the big race u month hence. He was driving to the limit i today to beat Blue Mouse half a lengtli and had jockey Cole been a bit more alert. Blue .Mouse would surely linve won, as she was going much the faster at the end. Eland, Bob R. and Shapdalc were winning favorites. Jockey T. Koerucr piloted three winners and Ihil Musgrave two. There were anumber of arrivals this morning from California and Juarez, among them K. J. Ryan, Jack Atkin and Gus Blum. Mr. Atkiu is on his way to New York, but will probably remain here for a week or ten days. Mr. Ryan will join the ranks : of tins layers at the next cut-in. The judges handed down their ruling in the Fitz-simmons-MeCahey-Via Oetavia case this afternoon. .Mr. Fitzsiiumous is exonerated of all blame in the matter and the horses bad race is laid to the rider. The judges in their ruling declare that after careful Investigation they can find no reasonable excuse for the horses race and admit that while the horse was blocked several times during the race, McCahey should have got him clear. To sum up the whole matter. Fitzsimmous and McCahey are both restored to good standing, no evidence of fraud having been found. . Many of the owners racing here have signified their intention of shipping to Lexington to participate iu the spriug meeting at that point. The entire stable ot L. P. Docrhofer was shipped last night to Kentucky. Mr. Doerhofer and, his trainer, J. W. May. have parted company, because of some differences arising out of the recent victory of Miss Wiggs at long odds, it is said. Orville West will handle the Doerhofer horses in future, it is reported. The Doerhofer string was one of the strongest here. Besides Mary Davis. Danger Mark and Melisande, it contained the promising two-year-olds, Toiumie Thompson. Ursula Emma and Claude Hoffman.
