BELMONT STALLIONS FORMALLY ACCEPTED. Washington. D. C. February 2$. Judge Advocate General Crowdcr having decided that the War Department is at liberty to accept the line stallions Henry of Navarre and Octagon from August Belmont for the purpose of improving the breed of this United States cavalry horses, the AVar Department today called upon the Treasury Department for permission for the free importation into this country of Hie animals named, which are now in France. Since Mr. Belmonts gift the- department has received several tentative offers of fine breeding animals from other horsemen, somC- of which will doubtless be accepted.
