AUTO MAID was on the outside and her rider was handicapped somewhat when it came to riding a hard finish. NANNIE MDEK ran a good race and responded gamely to punishment in the final drive and was a fast gaining third. CO LETT EU ran well and finished resolutely. FORT AAORTH set a fast pace, but quit after going five furlongs. BODKIN ran forwardly throughour. but tired in the last furlong. CHESS ran well under a poor ride. ZOOL quit badly. JOHN PATTERSON was much used In closest pursuit of the pacemaker and tired in the last furlong. MISS MARJORIE ran a fairly good race. LORD NELSON showed speed. GUY FISHER showed a tine turn of speed and. taking the lead at once, raced MONTA FOX and KINGSHIP into defeat In the first half, then gamely withstood successive challenges from ALFRED THE GREAT and ANTENOR in the stretch drive. ANTENOR was shnllled back while rounding the far turn, but finished last after coming wide when entering the homestretch. ALFRED Till: GREAT saved ground all the way, but tired in the last furlong after a resolute stretch effort. KINGSHIP raced in closest pursuit to tbe stretch and tired. -KINGS DAUGHTER was never prominent, hut finished well. MONTY FOX quit after running a fast half. Scratched 940S4 AVorkbox, 103. LADY ESTHER finished with a great rush sifter having appeared to sulk in the early running. JOE ROSE ran well to tlie stretch and Urea in the last eighth. ALGOL ran poorly. DEARIE set the early pace and ran well to the .stretch, then quit badly.
