MARY LEE JOHNSON moved up rapidly while rounding the far turn and made a game finish, but was driving all of the last furlong to outstay IRISHTOYYN for second place. The latter began well and showed the most early speed, but tired in the final drive and may have been short. AlTO MAID only ran fairly well. ELMKTA HAMILTON was much used in racing ROYAL ONYX and STRIKE OUT into defeat and tired in the closing strides. VOLTAIRE ran prominently all the way and outstayed the tiring STRIKE OUT for third place. The latter was speedy and made the pace fast around the turn. MACIAS finished fast.
